About

 Dear lovers of intimate music,

This year we've created an innovative synergetic effect in Israeli terms that only two leading and fresh spirit institutes such as the Voice of Music in the Upper Galilee Music Festival and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) could generate and fulfill.

Thus we're glad to offer you, members of loyal audience of the Festival as well as new audiences joining us, fresh experiences in the connection between stage and audience and in the quality of the Festival's atmosphere that could be achieved in the exquisite site of Kibbutz Kfar Blum.

In the attached artistic program one could find chamber concerts with a fine team of musicians from abroad (most of the already renowned and favorites of the Festival audience in Israel) and best of the Israeli artists.

Do pay a special attention to the concert dedicated to the "Kreutzer" sonata, to the chamber version of Beethoven's fourth symphony (Israeli premiere), to the farewell concert with works by Bach, Mozart and Beethoven and to the Concerto Competition, JAMD winners concert that includes a solo performance of Haydn's concerto by International cellist Gary Hoffman.

Aside the common classical-romantic repertoire, our program is spotted with many special events – premieres to works by Moshe Zorman, madrigal-comedy (comedia del'arte in sounds) in a stage production, premieres by the Israel Woman Composers' Forum, the play "Itruf" with Eli Gornstein, based on David Grossman – an Israeli play with similarities to Tolstoy's "Kreutzer Sonata", a recital by exciting International guitar artist Rafael Aguirre Miñarro (first performance in Israel), the unique concert of complete caprices for violin solo by Paganini with the International violinist Yehonatan Berick, and much more.

In addition to all this – I wish to bring to your attention the short "Voice of Music Upper Galilee Music Festival for Children" artistically directed by Julia Pevzner, in which a variety of original events for kids and for the whole family will take place, some of them for the first time, especially for the Festival.

The combination of JAMD's International Summer Institute for Strings, artistically directed by Zvi Plesser in the framework of our Festival, brings a wide variety of activities open to the audience: Master classes, open lessons, rehearsals and even surprise concerts by the International faculty and dozens of students from around the globe.

Welcome to the Festival, the hottest event of this summer,

Michael Melzer
